A friend of mine often works weddings at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, and whenever she does, she snaps photos for me. It’s a nice peek into the world of very fancy weddings — I don’t think I ever got a chance to decorate a wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel (although I have decorated weddings at other Ritz-Carlton locations).

The first was a Pakistani-Bulgarian wedding, but you would never know it from the decorations. These are just a few photos from what my friend sent.

An overview of the setup. I love the simplicity.

The vases holding the flowers are no doubt glass, but I would bet that the stands are clear acrylic. I would also bet that the frosting effect was achieved with either baby powder that’s easy to wipe off, or possibly just a result of condensation from the grass they’re sitting on.

These arrangements are incredibly simple, but the color selections are so strong that they stick out in the beautiful surroundings. Here, you can see bunches of orange hydrangeas, orange baby roses, white roses, and orange and red orchids. I believe that there are also orange calla lilies and tulips hidden back there as well.

And Mother Nature cooperated beautifully with flowers the same color as the wedding decorations along the cliff side.

Not long after this beautiful wedding, my friend sent me pictures from another also gorgeous ceremony. The flowers and decorations were done by Karen’s Garden in LA.

Here’s an overall view of the ceremony, which was on a tiled stone area, and featured a very simple canopy.

This wedding faced the other direction, but had similar colors to the last one. But that’s where the similarities end — this ceremony featured a lovely, draped canopy and pew arrangements.

The canopy was decorated with two large arrangements that appeared to be orange roses in full bloom, along with some hydrangeas.

The pew arrangements had lovely variegated roses in full bloom — yellow with orange edges, and that’s probably the type of rose the florist used throughout the wedding — orange dahlias and what looks like orange hydrangeas.

And the backdrop beyond the canopy. Wow.

The genius thing about using orangey colors for a beach wedding is that they pop against the color of the water.
