Bridal shower and wedding giveaways
We’re full on into the Summer of Weddings now! I don’t know about anyone else, but I know of three brides tying the knot in July, including two on July 4. So its been a busy summer, even though I’m not attending even one of these weddings, but have been included in adjacent events.
I kind of like it that way.
One thing that’s nice is the little things you take away from each event, like this little teacup full of goodies I was given at a recent bridal shower. Besides the ceramic teacup, it came with personalized gum, Lifesavers (or another rolled mint, I haven’t opened it yet) and teabags enclosed in wrappers labeled “Love is Brewing!” Heehee. Adorable.
This technically is not a giveaway, but a remnant of one of those July 4 weddings. My friend Belinda was a bridesmaid and also my houseguest the week prior to the wedding, and so left her bridesmaid bouquet at my house. (Trying to get a baby, luggage and a bridesmaid bouquet through LAX probably doesn’t work too well.) So I thought I’d include it here. These are pink roses, obviously, surrounded by lemon leaf and punctuated by green hypericum berries. I thought it was a nice, simple bouquet.
Oh, but what I really liked from Belinda’s wedding was the painted umbrellas that were passed out for guests sitting in the sun. Look how lovely it is! I believe what’s depicted is cherry blossoms and birds, but you look at it and see for yourself.
The view from underneath was just as lovely. Little details like this make the wedding more comfortable for your guest and honestly, adds a bit of charm to your wedding.
