Wedding in a church gym

Katie and Dustin, a couple whose wedding was photographed by my friend Lori, are a couple of smart cookies. They’re budget conscious — and who isn’t these days? — so both their families pitched in to help make their wedding a spectacular event.

Has your church gym/rec room ever looked like this? Yeah, me neither. Let’s take a closer look at all the details.

Bridal bouquet of yellow and white gerber daisies

I was browsing my friend Lori’s site the other day and discovered this gem of a wedding. The sunny yellow color attracted me most, and honestly, it was an appropriate choice for the couple — they seem totally sunny!

But I love the use of gerber daisies in the bridal bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere. From weddings I’ve done, I haven’t seen it used often in personal flowers and its a great choice.

A pinwheel wedding at Newland Barn

Once in a while Darleene lets us take over her blog with a guest post, and today is one of those days! So thanks, Darleene, for allowing us to share a beautifully handcrafted wedding we recently photographed (my husband Keith and I are Orange County wedding photographers—Lori Anderson Photographers).

Find a Wedding Photographer: Lori Anderson

The best way to find a wedding photographer is by referral in my opinion, and I’m about to give you a testimony. Meet Lori Anderson, freelance photographer.

Photos by Lori Anderson

They say a photo speaks a thousand words, and I really think that Lori’s photos speak for themselves.

I have a background with Lori, by the way. She and I worked at the Cal State Fullerton Daily Titan together, her with the website and me with the news side. I can tell you from experience this woman works hard and smart.

In college, Lori blew me away with her forethought on our newspaper website — which won many awards — and not only that, when she began designing, she became the designer I wanted designing my special project. Really.

So if you’re lucky enough to come across Lori in your quest to plan your wedding — ask her not just about her photography, which is beautiful, but also ask her about designing your wedding site and maybe your invitations. Talk about one stop shop!
