Flower arrangements with amaranthus

If you love the Secret Garden look when it comes to flowers — you know, sort of like vines everywhere, a little bit wild — then you will probably want to put amaranthus in your floral decorations. Amaranthus looks like a green, but they’re actually flowers, very densely-packed flowers — and this flower also comes in bright, almost magenta, red. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of the red variety. Sorry!

100_2807This centerpiece, from a wedding show, is a prime example of amaranthus. See how they’re hanging off the arrangement at the top of this silver vase? It’s a great look, not too polished, almost dreamy.

Tulips, roses and one garden wedding

Some of the weddings I’m being sent have been amazing, and only Royal Wedding Month was in my way of posting them. I’m here to fix that problem right now.

I truly wish I knew who the florist was for this spectacular set up, but I don’t. No, it wasn’t me or anyone I know. But my undercover wedding attender was highly impressed by this garden wedding at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo. Can you blame her? I briefly considered saving this overall photo for last, but c’mon — we want detail shots, am I right?

Dripping flowers at Rancho Las Lomas

Ever been to Rancho Las Lomas in South Orange County? Me neither! So I got totally excited when I opened my email and saw the gorgeous flowers that decorated the outdoor theater used for the wedding ceremony. The photos are courtesy of a friend who continues to supply me with absolutely gorgeous photos of flowers. I think my friend needs a moniker. Any suggestions?
