Vases and candles at Costco

I was at Costco the other day for a few things when I spotted these vases. My husband sighed in disbelief that I was about to take pictures of Costco products, but you would think he would be used to me whipping out my camera for any little thing by now.

These are exactly the types of vases that are in style for weddings now. Tall, clear glass, plus I believe they come with tealight holders, so you could actually put whatever you want on the bottom, and light a candle midway through. Technically, I think these were labeled hurricane vases.

Anyway, these vases were amazing, but I probably wouldn’t recommend them for guest table arrangements, since they’re kind of pricey. How pricey you might ask?

For vases at home, that’s an excellent price. But for vases that you’re going to end up giving away? That’s pretty pricey.

But that’s not all I spotted at Costco. Next to the vases were these candles.

They’re very Christmas-y, aren’t they? And as I’ve mentioned before, I like to pair colors with metallics — like blue or purple with silver, or burgundy with gold. I guess you could go vice versa with all that, but unless you want to look like a rabid Lakers fan, I’d avoid the purple with gold. There was also a red metallic finish jar candle there. I think it was with red and silver, but red and gold would look amazing too. These are the type of candles that I would set place around gathering areas of your reception — on your sweetheart table, around the cake, the sign-in table.

The trouble with Costco, however, is that they often sell stuff seasonally and for a very short time, and they don’t always stock the same stuff at other warehouses. If you were wondering, I found these items at the Westlake Village location. I wouldn’t count on Costco having these same items a few months from now, unfortunately. For example, I found some really great frames at Costco over the summer that are no longer available. I’m going to have to find those elsewhere, if they’re still available.

I don’t think this will be my last Costco entry, though. Stay tuned!
