Wedding deals on 11/12/13

This coming Tuesday is November 12, 2013, or 11/12/13, and its the second-to-the-last date you can get married on a sequential numerical date this century. (The last opportunity this century will be 12/13/14.) So, even if its a Tuesday, there are a lot of couples out there taking advantage of this easy-to-remember date.

Besides the fact that this is an easy-to-remember date that makes for a good story for future retellings, there is another big reason why you should consider biting the bullet and tying the knot this coming Tuesday. It’s called the weekday wedding deal — seeing as how most weddings are held on a weekend, usually Saturday, venues offer huge deals to couples willing to make their big day a weekday affair.

All across the country, wedding venues are taking advantage of this auspicious date — especially since the holidays are coming up and fewer couples are scheduled to get married. Here are a few I stumbled across while I was reading about the rush to get married on 11/12/13.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the quickie wedding capital of the country, so its no surprise that many of its venues are offering 11/12/13 deals. However, most of them are not advertised; you have to call and find out what exactly the deal is. One quirky deal that I found is from the Mob Museum — for $1,112.13, just five couples can get married in a courtroom that has seen some of America’s most notorious trials involving members of organized crime. The package includes the cost of the ceremony, a single-layer cake and champagne for 20 guests.

The Sweetheart Wedding Chapel is also offering three 11/12/13 deals — all under $700. The cheapest deal — $249 — includes a bouquet, a boutonniere, use of the indoor gazebo and more.

Florida

Gulf Beach Weddings is offering $100 off any of its on-the-beach wedding packages, which start as low as $720. This package includes a photographer and 50 released images on a CD, the officiant, a heart or circle on the beach and decorated tiki torches, at no additional cost. Their beach wedding locations include Pass A Grille Beach at St. Pete Beach, Sunset Beach at Treasure Island and Siesta Key Beach.

Houston

Precious Nuptials of Houston is offering what they call the Something Blue Galveston Elopement Package for 11/12/13. For just $495, the package includes a beach or garden ceremony with up to 10 guests, officiant, bouquet and boutonniere, music, photographer, a digital copy of released images and marriage license assistance.
