Breakdancing flash mob proposal

It’s engagement season again, and from my photographer friend Ja Tecson I discovered this video of a breakdancing flash mob surprise proposal. Sound complicated? It kind of was, but in a good way!

I am guessing this all took place at Cal State Long Beach, because the mob was made up of past and present members of PAC Modern, the university’s Filipino Club’s associated dance crew. (Cal State Fullerton alum here!) As an aside, PAC Modern and other dance crews like it have gone pro and appeared on shows like America’s Best Dance Crew.

The flash mob show was apparently presented as a gift of sorts for the couple’s 7th anniversary.

And, I gotta say, I love the look of confusion and wary expectation here. I bet she had no idea what was coming next…

Later added: Here’s the official video!

The video is a little long, just over five minutes, but I think its worth it. The speech from Charles to Val was totally sweet. And I love the effort from all their friends to help Charles out with this special moment.

See Val’s face? I know that feeling. Sort of a teary, almost speechless moment of gratitude and awe that all these people love her.

And let’s not forget a shot of the ring! LOL, and I love that they were drinking sparkling apple cider, rather than champagne. Congratulations, Charles and Val! I can’t imagine what your wedding reception dancing will look like!
