Simple seaside wedding in Laguna Niguel

Why are beach weddings so popular? Because the beach and the ocean are inherently beautiful, and you want to have your most beautiful moment — your wedding — in a beautiful place. So you don’t need much to dress it up.

My undercover wedding attender snapped these photos for me of a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel back in July. It was an overcast day, but trust me — it was a blessing in disguise, since you don’t want to be broiling under the sun as many attendees find themselves at outdoor ceremonies.

The flowers for this wedding were elaborate, yet simple at the same time. Simple, in that there are only two altar arrangements. Elaborate, in that the arrangements themselves are large and sit atop a pair of pretty fat cylinder vases.

Here’s a closeup of one of the arrangements. I see pink stargazers, pink and white hydrangeas, pink roses and those green stems sticking out are Bells of Ireland.

Here’s a closeup of the table that sat in between the two altar arrangements. In front of the two roses sit two seashells, one filled with pink sand, the other with blue sand. Presumably, during the ceremony, the bride and groom will pour their respective seashells’ sand into the glass-shaped heart to signify the commingling of their lives.
